Mexico - Tianguis

this is an open air market. you can buy almost anything there, but mostly fruits and vegetables. we call it tianguis [with no translation] or mercado sobre ruedas [market on wheels] because they move every day and you know which day of the week they are around your neighborhood.

Mexico City is "overpopulated" with billboards, but every once in a while we get to see some funny ones...  like this, part of a series featuring -but of course- chickens!

These are stuffed chickens at a famous Paris shop called Deyrolle. It is partly a garden shop and partly a taxidermist(!)

The tallest tower in Latin America for a long time, up to several years ago of course, the Torre Latinoamericana is always depicted whenever you see a skyline of Mexico City, along with the Angel de la Independencia (which ga posted already) and some others which will eventually appear here.

Mexico - Café El Jarocho

This café is not a very quiet and peaceful place, but it is quite famous and you can drink good coffee. Coyoacán is a small old town in the south of the city and famous for the market, cafés and bars.

Paris - Le café de Flore

This café is one the famoust café of Paris : "le café de Flore" in the "Saint Germain" area: ask for a coffee and read a newspaper for half an hour there and then you just think life is easy and nice...

This the traffic at 8:00 AM on one of the most important (high)ways in the city (le périf). All these people are going from the state of Mexico to Mexico city. At the back you can see the satelite towers, which are very representative in the state of Mexico.

Salut, JM.  Since it doesn't snow here in the city, I thought I'd photograph some ice cream... see, the spanish word for "snow" is the same as for "ice cream", so it's like a pun...
