Mexico city is full of this green VW taxis. They are green because they're supposed to be ecological (new ones are white and red) and the letter L on the license plate stands for libre [free], which means you can catch them anywhere on the street, rather than at a taxi stand (those have an S).
Shoes shinners are really really not easy to find in Paris. These two are inside the Montparnasse Shopping Mall in front of the Galeries Lafayettes... A security guard was just around me saying photo are forbiden inside the shopping mall that is why i have to steal it (and also why quality is so poor).
Although they're more easily found in or near parks, shoe shiners can still be found in the most important avenues of this city...

the color of the wall is known as mexican pink and it's used a lot [just see the market]
In French "le marché" (Market in English) is the word for open air market. In Paris every area got his own "marché", you can find the list here (in French!).
